Kate Anderson

Youth Orchestra Conductor

Mrs. Anderson is the current Director of Music at Tourtellotte Memorial High School in Thompson, CT, where she conducts three performing ensembles as well as teaches piano, guitar, music technology and music theory. Mrs. Anderson has been playing violin for thirty years, performing in a wide variety of community performances, including the University of Connecticut Orchestra, and the Northeast Connecticut Community Orchestra. She holds a BFA in Music and a BS in Music Education from the University of Connecticut. Her students thrive under her enthusiastic leadership and talented direction, and we look forward to her taking the Youth Orchestra to new heights!

Shannon Stevenson

String Ensemble Conductor

Our Strings Ensemble members are lead by the talented Mrs. Shannon Stevenson. Mrs. Stevenson currently teaches music for Groton Public Schools and serves as the strings conductor for their elementary orchestra program. She earned her BS in Music Education and BFA in Music (2000, Magna cum Laude) from the University of Connecticut. In 2005, Mrs. Stevenson earned a Masters in Education from Eastern Connecticut State University. Our Strings Ensemble is a growing every year, thanks to her talented leadership.
